Mitch Huhem was born in Queens, New York and raised in San Diego, California.He is a Jewish convert to the LDS Church.He was one of the youngest Eagle Scouts of America at age 12 years 11 months.He came to Utah for the first time in his life while receiving a full-time academic scholarship to BYU.He also served as a missionary in the Chile Antofagasta Mission (where his mission was extended by the First Presidency), even though his original mission call was to the Bogata Columbia Mission.
Mitch loves God and includes Him in all his daily affairs including his business transactions.Mitch says, "God is his best partner.

Mitch and Patricia are the parents of six children: Adam Jared (deceased 1992), Moroni Brigham (deceased 1993), Elisa who is 7 years old, Natasha who is 6 years old, Christopher 3 years old and Daniella, two years old.
