  Donald Huffines graduated from the University of Texas at Austin in 1981 with a BBA in Finance. In 1982 he started his career with the largest commercial brokerage company in Texas, Henry S. Miller Company. Donald gained valuable experience in office leasing, retail development and income property sales. In 1984 he was the 4th top producer of over 130 commercial brokers, and was promoted to Vice President.
  
  In 1985 he formed Huffines Communities™, with the company's primary focus being land investing and developing. In 1990, taking advantage of the real estate and savings and loan debacle in Texas, he began assembling investors to acquire property from various government institutions, which proved to be very successful.
  
  After developing numerous subdivisions, he made a commitment in 1997 to focus on developing large master-planned mixed-use communities.
