    Alan is a fifth-generation Texan, Persian Gulf War veteran, and active duty combat arms officer.He has both a B.A. and M.A. in history and has been published in Military Collector and Historian and the Journal of the Alamo Battlefield Association.He is a member of the Texas State Historical Association, the Company of Military Historians, the Alamo Society, and is a charter member of the Alamo Battlefield Association.He and his wife, Caroline, live in Comal County with their three daughters.The Blood of Noble Men: The Alamo Siege and Battle is his first book.

    Talked to Alan Huffines in Texas about an article we want to do on the history of cowboy gear.He's quite the expert.We also talked about a screenwriting seminar where the director of the Alamo (Alan was one of the historical consultants on the film) was asked about the future of the historical epic and he responded, "I think I killed it."
