Mr. Hsu is the chairman of Kinpo Electronics and Compal Electronics, two renowned electronics conglomerates with aggregate revenue of US$3 billion in year 2000. The business scope of these two groups includes calculators, digital cameras, printers, fax machines, notebooks, displays, and PDAs. He is an influential industry figure, holding the chairmanship of the Importers and Exporters Association of Taipei (IEAT), which includes more than 8,000 members. Mr. Hsu has extensive relationships in the IT industry in the Greater China area and has invested in numerous business ventures.

Rock Hsu, chairman of the Kinpo-Compal Group and Taiwan Electrical and Electronic Manufacturers' Association (TEEMA), pointed out that the global production value of automotive electronics parts and systems is expected to reach US$192 billion in 2010 as modern automobiles are adopting an increasing ratio of electronics and ICT equipment.

Hsu urges the government to utilize more resources to develop Taiwan's automotive electronics line and help ingrate up- and down-stream makers to achieve strong global competitiveness, and hold related international exhibitions on the island to attract global buyers.
