    Chi-pin Hsieh (Taiwan) Violinist

    One of the most active Taiwanese jazz musician, composer, educator, lecturer and promoter.Graduated in classical violin major from the Music Department of Chinese Culture University then holds the Masters Degree of Jazz Violin, the Royal Conservatory of Brussels, Belgium.Often performs with Chipin & Kaiya's Jazz Group , Chipin & Kaiya's Duo Project.The later group performs and tours in the National Recital Hall (2003), music festivals and other high-profile venues in Taiwan and Europe.In 2005 he performed in the Java International Jazz Festival, Jakarta with the Chipin & Kaiya¡¦s Duo Project, then soon went back to Taipei to perform with jazz pianist D.D. Jackson in March 18th 2005.

    Chi-pin Hsieh is the instructor for the Summer Jazz Party concert series hosted by National Concert Hall from 2003 to 2005, and the Initiator and faculty of Taipei International Summer Jazz Academy since 2004.He is currently teaching in the music department of Shih-Chien University.

    Violinist Chi-pin Hsieh and Pianist Kai-ya Chang are two native Taiwanese who grewup with classical and pop music , they were all professional musicians working forrecords and studios before they were interested in jazz music , for exploring thebroader musical world , eventually they made up their mind to study jazz in Europe, after five years study , they were all graduated with master degrees from the JazzDepartment of Royal Conservatory in Brussels , Belgium , and went back to Taiwanin 2002 as two professional musicians and active educators .

    But Chi-pin and Kai-ya always consider themselves as serious Taiwanese jazz musicians, they are not only looking for new musical ideas , but also composing and developingthose ideas into aspiring performances . On 11th August 2003 , they performed atthe National Recital Hall in Taipei , the "Taiwan New Jazz" Concert waswell-received , and it did attracted local audience for their interest and understandingfor creative jazz music .
