Ed received his art training at Syracuse University in New York and U.C. Santa Barbara, where he received his B.A. in 1969, his teaching credential in 1970.
He has taught a variety of art classes at Shasta High School in Redding, California, for the past 32 years and has taught AP Studio Art for the last 22 years.He has been an AP Studio Art exam reader for the last 13 years; the past 7 of which as a table leader.
Ed has been presenting AP Studio Art Workshops for the College Board for the last 11 years.He has recently given workshops in Vancouver and Edmonton, in Canada; Seattle, Salt Lake City, Lqs Angeles, San Francisco, San Diego, Tucson, San Jose, Santa Barbara, Las Vegas, Denver, Dallas, Portland, and Honolulu.
Ed is an active watercolorist.He teaches watercolor in National Parks in the summer and has had several one-man shows in Yosemite National Park.He led a group of students to La Pas, Mexico, in 1990, to paint a series of murals.
Ed has received the following awards for his teaching abilities: California Outstanding Educator Award, National Outstanding Educator, Award National Art Honor Society Award, National Pacific Art Teacher of the Year, National Secondary Art Teacher of the Year, and California Secondary Art Teacher of the Year.
Ed is a National Board Certified Teacher, A.P. Reader, and was a member of the A.P. Development Committee. email
