    Peter Howes, Sales & Marketing Director for the identification Systems Division joined Intermec Technologies UK Ltd in January 1998 after 9 years at Olivetti.There he was responsible for printer sales and printer marketing, before managing Olivetti's UK retail business delivering PCs via high street chains.

    Q. What has been your main focus since you have arrived?

    My main focus throughout 1998 was setting up the channel.We have focused on developing the Accredited Dealer Network, so that we can actually go out and talk to resellers about selling Intermec's products into their captured accounts.What we are trying to do is offer very high level of support.

    Q. Why is accreditation important to Intermec and Accuscan?

    When you move into a market where bar coding is relatively new, it is important to look at the value dealers are getting from manufacturers.
