He also was a long-time member of the Serra Club, active in both local and national efforts to encourage young men to join the Catholic priesthood.
He was a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church and Westbrook Country Club.
After retiring and moving to Florida, he was a member of the Boca Teeca and Deerfield Country Clubs.
