Eric Horvitz is a principal of the firm and a member of the Corporate, Securities, Tax & Finance practice group.
He focuses his practice on how the International Revenue Code impacts companies and individuals.
Mr. Horvitz advises businesses in negotiating acquisitions and dispositions, financing transactions, both equity and debt, and executive compensation.
He represents clients in estate planning matters involving wills, trusts and estates.
He has experience in business succession planning and valuation of business interests.
In the tax controversy areas, he represents taxpayers before the Internal Revenue Service and state authorities in examination and collection efforts in income, sales and use, and estate and gift tax matters.
In 2006 and 2007, Mr. Horvitz was designated as a Virginia Super Lawyer in the Tax section.
He was also designated as one of Virginia's Legal Elite in the Business Law Section in 2006, and as a Washington, D.C. Super Lawyer in 2007 and 2008.
