In addition, the employees of McCar Homes formed The Second Mile Committee to provide volunteer support to these organizations by participating in charity walks, holding blood drives and collecting toys for disadvantaged children.Because of these programs, and the charitable contributions of our employees, thousands of dollars and hundreds of hours are donated to various charities throughout the Southeast each year.
Tsunami AssistanceCompany wide, employees raised $4,500 for Tsunami Relief.To help families devastated by this disaster, McCar Homes matched the contribution, for a total of $9,000.
Hurricane KatrinaWhen families were forced to leave their homes due to Katrina, McCar Homes sponsored seven families who were displaced to Atlanta and North Carolina.

Each year, McCar Homes and the McSwain family support the Paul Anderson Youth Home, a Christian rehabilitation facility for troubled young men located in Vidalia, Ga. Over the years, hundreds of teens that had previously been incarcerated have been given a second chance to be positive, productive members of our society through education, vocational training, life skills management and counseling.

An Easter egg hunt was held, sponsored by McCar Homes, and at Christmas, the employees brought presents to the children at the home.
