Before forming into groups, William Holland, the former architect for the city of Los Angeles, made a presentation on the overall plan for downtown.
Holland, who's also vice president of construction services for URS Corp., said the downtown area will be "an attraction that will continue to serve" the city.
"Opportunities here are great," Holland said later in the day.
While Holland sees the city eventually succeeding he cautions residents to be patient.
These type of projects take years to complete, he said.
"We're always in a hurry, we want instant gratification," Holland said.
The financial benefit of such an endeavor won't be felt until it's finished, Holland added.
