Alexander Holladay has just completed his postgraduate studies in 'cello performance with Colin Carr and Philip Sheppard at the Royal Academy of Music, graduating with the prestigous DipRAM and the Thomas Fitton Prize for Strings.

Alexander graduated from Queens' College, Cambridge, in 2003, where he read Natural Sciences.
A passionate chamber musician, Alexander has appeared with ensembles in St. John's, Smith Square, Aldeburgh, Stuttgart (in collaboration with the Henri Oguike Dance Company) and Cheltenham International Music Festival, as well as joining the London Mozart Players to perform Schubert's Quintet in C in Portsmouth and Chichester Cathedrals.Recent concerto performances include Brahms' Double Concerto with Anna in St. Giles', Cripplegate, and those by Saint-Saƫns, Tchaikovsky and Elgar, in venues such as Winchester Cathedrals, The Anvil, Basingstoke and the City of Cambridge Guildhall.In 2002, he was a prizewinner of the Cambridge Music Society concerto competition.
Alexander has performed with the BBC Philharmonic Orchestra, the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra, Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra, London Soloists Chamber Orchestra and Guildford Philharmonic Orchestra.He was a member of the National Youth Orchestra for five years, and in his first year at Cambridge was appointed principal cellist of the University Chamber Orchestra, as well as guest principal of the University Symphony Orchestra.
