Biography: Sven-Erik Holgersen graduated with emphases in musicology and education from the University of Copenhagen and has a Ph.D. in music education from The Danish University of Education. As assistant professor he is also secretary for the Danish Network for Research in Music Education supporting and initiating research in music academies, colleges of education, and universities in Denmark. Having a background as a music school teacher and leader and employment at a music academy, he is now teaching music education and research methodology to graduate students. Dr. Holgersen's research interests focus on a phenomenological approach to aesthetic experience and learning in young children, with applications to educational theory and policy.
