Robby Holgate, CCTV Manager, Stevenage District CouncilRobby will discuss the partnership between Stevenage and North Hertfordshire, which was formed in 1998 with just 30 cameras; today the Partnership has expanded with the addition of East Hertfordshire District Council and clients including Mid Bedfordshire District Council, Bedfordshire County Council, Letchworth Heritage Foundation, Roaring Meg retail park, Hertfordshire schools, and other small clients.The system now covers 12 towns with over 200 cameras, 18 schools, 8 ANPR cameras and 18 Mobile rapid response cameras.Robby will outline the challenges and benefits of the partnership, the technology involved and the impact on CCTV provision.He will also outline the importance of effective communications, the partnerhship's control room has extensive retail, pub watch radio systems as well as Police 02 communications working to two Police Communications centres.

What originally started as a relatively small-scale operation involving a single school now looks like becoming a county-wide scheme as Robert Holgate, the CCTV Control Room Manager for Stevenage Borough Council explains: "Initially we were just looking to reduce incidents of vandalism and petty crime within a particular secondary school in Stevenage, and this proved very successful.

To ensure the sophisticated surveillance system stayed in prime condition, Robert Holgate, CCTV Manager with Stevenage District Council then turned his attention to securing a practical solution, one that would help to extend the operational effectiveness of the town's CCTV surveillance monitoring system.

Having identified the need to address the ongoing operational well being of the system, which covers Stevenage and the surrounding North Hertfordshire towns of Hitchin, Letchworth, Hertford, Baldock and Royston, Holgate decided to secure his objective through a well-managed and executed plan of scheduled maintenance.
