Carol Holdsworth

Carol Holdsworth, curator and researcher at the Goldfields Research Centre, Bendigo in 2006, believes that Bendigo was unusual amongst Victorian towns with Chinese ,lodges.' Being an extremely ,unionised' town, for example, the original source of the Amalgamated Miners' Association, a trade union which also spread around the continent, Bendigo was the last amongst Victorian towns to accept Chinese involvement in cultural life.
