Mrs. Hoffman was born February 23 , 1916 , in Wellman , IA. Jean and her late husband , Paul , were married for 59 years.She graduated from the University of Iowa with a degree in music education.Music and the arts were her love and she participated actively in the Kansas City area.Jean was also an active member of the Country Club United Methodist Church for 48 years.She served as a member of the Chancel Choir and as director of the Bell Choir and Youth & Children's Choir up until the time of her illness , as well as U.M.W. president and Circle chairman.Jean was also a member of the PEO chapter HJ , the Antique Club and DAR.She also served on the board of the Salvation Army.Her husband , Paul , preceded Jean in death in November of 2000.She is survived by her son , Scott Hoffman and his wife , Vicki , Baxter Springs , KS ; daughter , Holly Cross and her husband , Tom , Hot Springs , AR ; along with one sister , Wilma Miller , Holt , MI ; four grandchildren ; and four great-grandchildren.
