Susie Hoeger joined Abbott in 1991, and has been the Director, Global Trade Compliance & Policy since 2003. In that role, she is responsible for the development and oversight of the global trade compliance program for Abbott's diversified healthcare businesses, including pharmaceuticals, diagnostics, medical devices, and nutritional products. She also chairs Abbott's Global Strategic Trade Advisory Committee, and is responsible for the company's C-TPAT program. Prior to joining the customs and trade function, she held various positions in Abbott's finance organization. In the role of Europe Area Treasurer, she oversaw the treasury operations of more than 45 European affiliates and was responsible for optimizing capital structure, implementing cost-effective hedging strategies, and monitoring local cash management practices. She has also held positions in the Retirement Funds and Risk Management organizations at Abbott. Hoeger currently co-chairs the Healthcare Industries Committee of the American Association of Exporters & Importers (AAEI), and is a member of the International Committee for the Elimination of Pharmaceutical Tariffs (INTERCEPT) and the National Association of Foreign Trade Zones (NAFTZ). She earned her Bachelor of Science degree (with High Honors) in finance from the University of Illinois, and a Master's degree (with Distinction) in international business, finance, economics, and management & strategy from the J. L. Kellogg Graduate School of Management, Northwestern University.
