Dr. A. Hirsch, Vice-Chairman, UICC Tobacco Control Programme, gave a presentation on the International NGO Coalition Against Tobacco.

Participants reported on tobacco control activities in their countries including the 1994 International No Smoking Day activities.Since some countries do not yet have relevant tobacco control legislation, these activities varied.The Day had been widely celebrated in the region but appeared to have had less impact than in earlier years, indicating that the organizers needed to innovate.This exchange of opinions was informative and useful.
