  LONDON, October 17: Setanta and Virgin Media have appointedGeoff Hill as editor-in-chief of the soon-to-be-launched Setanta Sports Newschannel, produced by ITN.
  
  Hill, who has served as a senior program editor at ITN, willset the daily sports news agenda for the 24-hour news channel and head a newteam of nearly 60 people.
  
  Since 2006, Hill has been the program editor for ITV1'sflagship News at Ten Thirty, whichdelivers an audience of 3 million viewers.He was also in charge of ITN'scoverage of the World Cup in Germany in 2006, as well as coverage of the 2004U.S. Presidential elections, the Israel-Lebanon conflict in 2006 and the 7-7London bombings.
  
  On his appointment, Hill commented: "Editing the SetantaSports News channel is an incredibly exciting opportunity and I am thrilled tobe in at the beginning and look forward to building a fantastic channel withun-missable, must-see sports coverage.
