    Gayle Hill is the past president of the Alton Symphony Orchestra. She is a former music faculty member at Lewis and Clark Community College, having taught a variety of courses. Gayle is a well known vocalist throughout the area, soloing at the Alton Symphony Orchestra's Pops Concerts for three seasons. A member of the "Andrews Sisters" and "The Diamond Girls", she has performed in the LCCC Variety Shows and has been a producer as well. Her primary interest and focus, however, has been on Non-Western Music. Her interest in traveling and studying the diversity of cultures has taken her around the world. She has traveled to Latin America to experience the cultures of Brazil, the Maya Indians of Mexico and the Caribbean Islands. In 2004, she visited Thailand and interviewed members of the "Longneck" people (Karen Tribe). In October of 2003, she visited Poland. The travelogue that she created from this trip includes a tour through the capital city, Warsaw.
