Before becoming Finance Director for Serco Home Affairs, Gavin was Director, Investment Management, for Serco's capital investments arm and was primarily responsible for managing Serco's Private Finance and Equity investments.This included the refinancing of the Norfolk and Norwich University hospital as well as the negotiated re-structure of Serco's investment in Altram (Manchester Ltd), the special purpose company for the Manchester Metrolink.Prior to this role he was also Finance Director for the capital investments division.

Gavin joined Serco from Syngenta AG, an Anglo Swiss Agribusiness formed from the merger of the AstraZeneca and Novartis Agribusinesses.He held a variety of roles within this organisation including foreign exchange and interest rate risk management, corporate finance and business strategy.Gavin is both ACA (with Price Waterhouse, London) and AMCT qualified and has a degree in economics.
