Gavin has been a partner within Clyde & Co's Aviation and Aerospace Group since January 2004 with specific responsibility for the aviation finance and leasing practice.

His experience extends to the financing, leasing or purchase of hundreds of aircraft around the world.Gavin is able to advise in the context of most types of secured and unsecured loan and lease financing (including pre-delivery payments financing and export credit-supported financing), operating leases, tax leases, purchase contract negotiations and most other types of commercial arrangement involving passenger, cargo and business aircraft.

He continues to advise clients in relation to a variety of other aviation work, including in particular aviation insolvencies and restructurings and aircraft recoveries.

Gavin is recognised as a leading aviation/asset finance practitioner in the legal directories- including Chambers UK 2006, Chambers Global 2006, Legal 500 2006, Expert Guides 2006 and Legal Business Legal Experts 2006.

Although an aviation specialist, his expertise extends to a variety of other asset types, including ships, manufacturing and other equipment and satellites.

Gavin has been a partner within Clyde & Co's Aviation and Aerospace Group since January 2004 with specific responsibility for the aviation finance and leasing practice.Although an aviation specialist, his expertise extends to a variety of other asset types, including ships, manufacturing and other equipment and satellites.Gavin is recognised in Chambers 2004-2005 as a leading practitioner in this area and has been involved in a large number of well-known aircraft financings.

He has a broad range of experience and expertise in relation to all types of asset financing, leasing and sale and purchase.He is particularly recognised for his ability to handle complex cross-border/multi-jurisdictional transactions and regularly advises in relation to secured and unsecured loan and lease financings involving the leading market participants; export-credit supported financings involving all of the large aircraft sector ECAs; pre-delivery payments financing; multi-option facilities; tax leasing in all the relevant jurisdictions (in particular Japan) and related insolvencies; restructurings and recoveries.

Gavin also advises clients in relation to a variety of other aviation work, including in particular commercial aviation matters, national and European aviation regulation and lessor and financier aviation insurance issues.He also advises in relation to all aspects of aircraft and ship lease and loan portfolios, including sale and purchase, risk transfer and the impact of mergers and acquisitions.
