Trish Higgins specializes in employment litigation and counseling in Orrick's Sacramento office.She represents employers in a wide range of employment disputes, with particular emphasis on discrimination, sexual harassment, disability claims, and class actions.Trish handles employment matters in federal and state courts, as well as arbitrations and administrative proceedings.

Trish is a frequent lecturer, author, and trainer on employment law topics, including sexual harassment preventative training, the accommodation of employee medical leaves and disabilities, and preventing glass ceiling and discrimination claims.Her recent publications include Reasonable Accommodation Under the ADA, California Employment Law Reporter (May 1999) and California Public Employee Relations (October 1999), and New Developments in Employee Discharge and Documentation-Minimizing the Legal Risk, Lorman Educational Services (1999) (co-author).

Trish is an Adjunct Professor of Trial Practice at the University of California, Davis, School of Law and is a pro tem settlement conference judge for the Sacramento County Superior Court.She is the former Chair of the Labor and Employment Law Section of the Sacramento County Bar Association, and is a member of the Labor and Employment Law Sections of the American and California Bar Associations.Trish is past President and current Board Member of WEAVE, Inc., a not-for-profit organization that provides services to victims of domestic violence.

Trish is a graduate of Boalt Hall School of Law at the University of California, Berkeley, where she was Executive Editor of the Industrial Relations Law Journal.She received her undergraduate degree with honors from the University of California at Santa Cruz.Prior to joining the firm, she served as law clerk to United States District Judge Raul A. Ramirez of the Eastern District of California.
