    Since co-founding Crosby & Higgins LLP in 2004, Mr. Higgins has tackled the firm's most difficult legal matters.Mr. Higgins has successfully counseled individuals and businesses in a variety of commercial disputes, including prosecuting a number of cases all the way to trial and judgment in state and federal court, recovering millions of dollars for the firm's clients.

    Prior to Crosby & Higgins LLP, Mr. Higgins worked in Washington, D.C. and in New York City with the law firm of Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher LLP.At Gibson Dunn, Mr. Higgins gained valuable experience with commercial disputes, alleged securities and antitrust violations, and other complex litigation.As a member of the appellate group, Mr. Higgins also spent significant time working on appellate matters, including a number of cases pending before various federal courts of appeal as well as the United States Supreme Court.Subsequently, Mr. Higgins practiced law in Connecticut where he focused on business litigation, as well as ERISA, securities, consumer, and antitrust class action cases, including class action claims involving AT&T, AOL Time Warner, Electronic Data Systems, Sprint, Nortel Networks, American Energy and Power and Reliant Energy

    Prior to practicing law Mr. Higgins worked for a number of years in business management and later joined the financial services field as an investment advisor and Vice President with the Chase Manhattan Bank.During this time, Mr. Higgins managed a portfolio of individual and business clients, providing sophisticated financial advice on investment management, business financing, insurance, and estate planning.More recently, Mr. Higgins served as the general counsel and Chief Operating Officer for CoKinetic Systems Corporation, a New York based leading provider of embedded software with offices located in New York and in Bangalore India.

    Professional Education and Teaching Experience

    Mr. Higgins entered into the study of law in 1998 and is a graduate of the Fordham University School of Law where he was awarded the Fordham Law Prize (first in class) and was elected to the Order of the Coif for high attainment in the study of law.Mr. Higgins was also a member of the Fordham Law Review, was the co-author of a revised annual treatise on the antitrust law of vertical restraints, and was a research editor for a casebook on First Amendment rights.Deeply interested in politics and the field of constitutional law, Mr. Higgins serves as an adjunct professor of political science for the University of Connecticut where he has taught courses in constitutional law since 2005.

    Family and Community

    Mr. Higgins is a resident of Stamford, Connecticut, where he is married and the proud father of four small children.Mr. Higgins is admitted to practice law in the state and federal courts of New York and Connecticut.He is also a member of the New York State Bar Association and the Connecticut Bar Association.Mr. Higgins strives to be an active member of the community and has served as a volunteer attorney with Lawyers for Children America, a non-profit organization that provides guardian ad litem services for abused and neglected children in crisis situations.

    Todd Higgins

    Todd Higgins is a new arrival to the Lake Ridge area and is employed as a litigation associate at the Washington D.C. law office of Gibson, Dunn and Crutcher.To date, his work is primarily focused on appellate and antitrust litigation.In addition, he works with Lawyers For Children America, a non-profit group that trains attorneys to serve as guardians for children in abuse and neglect proceedings in the District of Columbia.

    Prior to graduating from law school, Mr. Higgins worked in management and finance in the New York City area.While serving as an Assistant Vice President at Chase Manhattan Bank, he decided to return to school in the evening program at the Fordham University School of Law.

    Mr. Higgins is married and the father of two wonderful boys.He states: "Although my wife and I are both from New York, we are thrilled at the prospect of raising our children in Virginia.Like most parents, we are deeply committed to raising our children in the best possible place and under the best possible circumstances.Accordingly, when we recently found out about Lake Ridge and all that it has to offer, we quickly acted to join the community.I am eager to contribute however I can to ensure that Lake Ridge continues to exceed all expectations.In doing so, I will be serving my community and my family, while protecting the investment we have made in our home."
