Tim Higgins, a walk-on receiver for the Florida Gators and the son of Bulldogs coach Kevin Higgins, will transfer to The Citadel and play in 2007 as a graduate student, the elder Higgins said Wednesday.

Tim Higgins, 5-8 and 170 pounds, graduated from Florida in December after 3 1/2 years at the school, and has one season of eligibility remaining.He will be working on his master's degree in education at The Citadel, his father said.
'He actually starts graduate classes on Thursday night,' Kevin Higgins said. 'He eventually wants to be a social studies teacher and a high school coach.'
Tim Higgins earned attention this season as the Gators' version of 'Rudy' during their championship season.After three years as a walk-on, which included a comeback from a torn anterior cruciate ligament in his knee, Tim was put on scholarship this season by coach Urban Meyer.

'They had a couple of receivers injured, and Tim knew all the positions, so they put him in with the first group of receivers.He caught a touchdown pass from Chris Leak, so that ended up being the highlight of his early career.'
