MR. PATRICK HIGGINS
Mr. Higgins comes from a strong Cathedral background, having first attended Cathedral as a camper at the Father Troike Leadership Program.He then attended Cathedral Prep, graduating in 1984 to attend St. John's University.He graduated from St. John's in 1990 with a teaching degree in American Studies.While still attending St. John's, he returned to Cathedral to coach the Junior Varsity Basketball team in 1988.After teaching Physical Education for one year at Our Lady of the Cenacle School in Richmond Hill, Mr. Higgins joined the staff of Immanuel Lutheran in Whitestone.He spent seven years at Immanuel teaching Math to grades 5-8 including Sequential Math I to the 8th grade.He also taught Reading, Religion, Computers, Physical Education and Geography during his years at Immanuel.In 1997, Mr. Higgins joined the staff of Cathedral full-time as a Math and Latin teacher and has also taught American History and English.He has also taken over the varsity soccer team and spent two years as the Junior Varsity Baseball coach, capturing the PSAA crown for the first time in about twenty years.He is currently Cathedral's third Athletic Director taking over that position in 1999.He is extremely happy to have found his way back to Cathedral after having so many great experiences here as a student.
BROTHER JOHN JOSEPH, O.S.F., M.A.
Brother John Joseph has been in education since 1973.He received his master's degree from Sacred Heart University and has been a recent recipient of an Educator's Fellowship in computer information technology from DeVry Institute.Brother spent many years teaching in Connecticut prior to coming to Cathedral Prep. before entering religious life, Brother worked in the technical aspects of theater, television radio and film.
