   CHEVY CHASE, MD, July 20, 2001 , Classic Residence by Hyatt, the senior living affiliate of Hyatt Corporation, recently announced the promotion of John M. Higgins to senior executive director for Classic Residence by Hyatt in Chevy Chase, a premier rental retirement community located at 8100 Connecticut Ave.
   
   Higgins has nearly 25 years of experience as a senior-level administrator of diversified organizations. Before he joined Classic Residence by Hyatt as executive director in July 1998, Higgins served as administrator of Vinson Hall, a continuing care retirement community in McLean, Va. Prior to that, he served as the administrator for Potomac Place, a congregate care living community in Woodbridge, Va.
   
   Under his leadership, Classic Residence by Hyatt in Chevy Chase has reached and maintained many operating milestones. The community has achieved 100 percent occupancy for 32 consecutive months dating back to November 1998 and maintains a lengthy waiting list. Classic Residence by Hyatt honored the Chevy Chase community with the "Best Operating Results" and "Sales Team of the Year" awards at the company's 2000 annual meeting. Higgins is also a member of the prestigious "Classic Training Team," an elite group of Classic Residence by Hyatt leaders who lend their management and industry expertise to other Classic Residence communities and staff on an as-needed basis. Under Higgins' leadership, Chevy Chase management staff is well represented on the "Classic Training Team" in the areas of accounting, administration, food and beverage, housekeeping, human resources, and sales and marketing.
