My practice is a low volume , time intensive solo practice devoted to pain management , in which I strive to use medication and minimally invasive procedures to keep pain patients at work and functioning well.I spend additional time consulting with other physicians and even family members to decide exactly how to treat a patient.I am devoted to the diagnosis and treatment of all types of pain , and most treatment involves minor neurosurgical or interventional radiological procedures ( i.e. , radiofrequency denervations ) .Depending on their problem , most of the patients I accept experience 50 % to 100 % pain relief for years.
Depending upon the patient , Dr. Hiesiger might utilize one of the following procedures : Radiofrequency Lesioning.
What is radiofrequency lesioning.
Radiofrequency lesioning is a highly effective treatment for chronic pain that uses heat to interrupt the flow of pain signals being sent to the brain , providing long term pain relief. One of the few practitioners of this technique in the New York City Metropolitan area , Dr. Hiesiger uses radiofrequency techniques to control certain types of headaches , neck pain , pain in the thoracic spine ( behind or along the ribs ) , and pain in and around surgical scars , and he is one of the few New York physicians who uses this technique to control certain types of low back and leg pain.
There is nothing experimental about radiofrequency lesioning. This highly successful technique for controlling pain has existed for more than twenty years both in the United States and Europe. At least 100 physicians nationwide currently use this technique to control various kinds of pain.
How are patients selected for radiofrequency procedures.Or is radiofrequency lesioning right for you.
