* Rex Hieser, an advisor to the Phi Theta Kappa chapter at the University of Wisconsin-Fox Valley Campus, located a donor willing to cover up to half of the fee for students with financial burdens.Students may pay according to their ability and the remainder is covered by the donation.Hieser said that even students who don't need assistance appreciate that Phi Theta Kappa is willing to help.

Rex Hieser, associate professor of psychology at the University of Wisconsin-Fox Valley, echoed that sentiment.

"After looking over the applications of all 75 nominees, I'm convinced the future of the Valley and this state will be in good hands," he said.

One thing that always bothered me a little bit is that job benefits include family members , said Rex Hieser , 49 , who has never been married but is in a long-term relationship.

The company ends up spending a lot more money for people with families , so in a sense , it's unequal pay , said Hieser , associate professor of psychology and associate dean at UW-Fox Valley.

Also , people tend to assume if you're single , your life revolves around work , Hieser said.I remember many years ago hearing that during a performance review , a colleague had said , 'Well , sure Rex has more time to ( devote to the job ) ; he's single.'.

The Human Services Club was created to help students gain knowledge about agencies and careers in which the primary focus is helping people in need.Most members are majoring or considering a major in fields such as psychology , sociology , or social work.The club sponsors speakers who work in helping professions such as Alcohol and Other Drug Abuse ( AODA ) counseling , crisis intervention , clinical psychology , marital therapy , and domestic abuse.The club tours facilities such as Goodwill and Winnebago Mental Health Institute.
