Several local players received postseason honors recently as coaches in Region 6-2A voted for their annual football awards.

St. Joseph sophomore running back Reggie Hicks was named Co-Most Valuable Offensive Player of the district.

"It was good to win the award, but I would have felt a lot better about it if we had finished the season with a winning record," said Hicks, who shared the award with Wesson's Nick Gunter.

Hicks scored 12 of the Bruins' 14 touchdowns this season.He was one of six local players to make the All-Region First Team.
