HICKS NAMED ASSOCIATE ATHLETICS DIRECTOR AT MSU Missouri State University, Bryan Hicks Bryan Hicks, a native of Huntsville, Ala., has been named as Missouri State's University's Associate Athletics Director for Academics and Student Development, the University announced Thursday (August 6). He will begin duties on August 17.

Hicks spent the past 12 years at the University of Louisville, including the last five as Assistant Athletic Director for Academics where he had responsibilities for the football team and stadium computer lab. He also served on the University's Commission on Diversity and Racial Equality (CODRE), the Directors Council for University Wide Advising and coordinated Louisville's Student-Athletes of Color Combining Opportunity and Responsibility for Excellence (SCORE).

"I'm excited to be joining the Missouri State Family," said Hicks.

Hicks and his wife Kellie are the parents of three children, Hailey, Sydney and Garrett.

Hicks fills the position formerly held by Darren Wienberg, who was director of the academic achievement center.

Hicks, a native of Huntsville, Ala., played basketball and baseball at Tuskegee University and received his degree in marketing from Alabama A&M in 1992. He earned his Master's in public administration from Portland State in 1996.

Bryan Hicks enters his third year as Assistant Athletic Director for Academics at U of L after serving the previous four as Associate Director for Academic Services.A member of the U of L staff for eight years, he oversees academics for the Cardinal football team and the Papa John's Cardinal Stadium Computer Lab.

A native of Huntsville, AL., Hicks attended Tuskegee University and played on the basketball and baseball teams.He received his bachelors degree in Marketing from Alabama A&M University in 1992 and went on to receive his Masters in Public Administration (MPA) degree from Portland State University in 1996.

Hicks came to the University of Louisville after serving as assistant men's basketball coach and coordinator of multicultural admissions at Warner Pacific College in Portland, Oregon.While with the Cardinals, Hicks has served as the compliance coordinator over education and monitoring and as an academic counselor.

Hicks and his wife, Kellie, are the parents of three children- two daughters, Hailey and Sydney, and one son, Garrett.
