Jack Heisler

Jack Heisler, a founding partner of Allegheny Refrigeration Sales Inc., on the North Side, was driving the station wagon shortly before 4 p.m. when he made an "abrupt left turn" from the right lane of U.S. Route 301 near the town of Church Hill, police said.

Bob Radzevich, 69, who started Allegheny Refrigeration with Heisler in 1958, called his former business partner a "good man" who was popular with his employees and clients.

Jack and Desales Heisler were high school sweethearts, growing up together in Carrick, Radzevich said.

Jack Heisler served four years in Korea in the Marines before returning home, marrying Desales and setting up shop with Radzevich on Brighton Road.

In his spare time, Jack Heisler collected and worked on antique cars.His son said he has gotten calls from fellow car enthusiasts around the world.

"There was something about him that they all really respected," he said.
