After the floods, Woodhurst Association President Charlie Heiny heard his neighbors worrying about their homes and the damage of future floods.He said the city met with the neighborhood in numerous meetings and worked closely to design a structure that fit the needs of both groups.

"It was a very seamless project," Heiny said.

Charlie Heiny, Woodhurst Neighborhood Association president, said the city did an excellent job in seeking input from residents.

"The residents did have a number of ideas for completing the project with modifications that made the containment effort more palatable with the park and residential area," he said.

Heiny, whose home was not hit by the 2003 flood, said he has not heard anyone opposed to the project in the area.
