Water level on the river is likely to drop by only a tiny bit in the next two days and the U.S. Coast Guard still has a ban on motor boats on the river, leaving race officials concerned with their ability to ensure the safety of the nearly 500 canoeists who would have paddled from St. Charles to Aurora, said Paul Heinkel, deputy director of the Fox Valley Park District.
