Ann M. Heinke, President of Overlook Consulting, Inc. of Loveland, Colorado has over 20 years of experience in data communications development.Ann holds a Bachelors of Electrical Engineering from the University of Minnesota Institute of Technology, and completed graduate studies in Data Communications at the University of Colorado College of Engineering and Computer Science.Ann has worked for Rosemount Inc., Analysts International Corporation, AT&T Bell Labs, Honeywell, Radish Communications Systems, the US Air Force, and Qualcomm.
Ann has developed switching systems and computer systems for terrestrial communications, and has developed telecommunications standards for both terrestrial and aeronautical users.Ann provides systems engineering for both cockpit and cabin communication applications, and has development and certification experience on business jet, air transport, and military transport aircraft.Ann's aeronautical standards development includes drafting, editing, or chairing groups responsible for the following key FANS standards: ARINC 622, ARINC 656, ARINC 745, DO-219, DO-212, DO-223 and others.Ann was a lead systems engineer for the first FANS implementation on the B747-400.Ann has also developed telecommunications standards for terrestrial networks (V.8bis, V.70 and T.35) in the US TIA and in the ITU-T, and continues to work telecommunications standards for airline cabin equipment in the AEEC and WAEA.Ann is presently chair of the joint RTCA SC-189/EuroCAE WG 53 Initial Oceanic Safety and Performance Requirements subgroup.
