Carol Hein of Spickard Elected to a Three Year Term
Columbia, Mo.,—Carol Hein of Spickard, Mo. was elected to a three-year term on the National Pork Board at the board's summer meeting in Dallas, Tex., July 21.
"It is an honor to serve on the National Pork Board," stated Hein."Over the years, the Pork Checkoff has helped our industry make great strides in producing better animals, improving our environmental practices and helping consumers understand how pork fits into their dietary needs.I look forward to the opportunity to help lead that important work."
Hein is the marketing programs coordinator for Premium Standard Farms.She is responsible for the development and implementation of selected trade and consumer advertising and promotional campaigns as well as the development of selected new products.Premium Standard Farms is a farrow-to-finish producer with 240,000 sows that markets 4 million hogs per year.
Nationally, Hein is a member of the Pork Checkoff's Producer and State Relations Committee.
At the state level, Hein has served as a leader for the Missouri Pork Association in various roles including secretary and most recently treasurer.Also, Hein currently serves as the Missouri Pork Association's regional director and is chair of the marketing and promotions committee.
Locally, Hein is active in the North Central Missouri Pork Association; she has been a member of the board of directors since 1996.
In other activities, Hein is a member of the board of directors and is second vice president for the University of Missouri-Columbia College of Agriculture, Food and Natural Resources Alumni Association.She also is a member of the board of directors for the Missouri Agricultural Leaders of Tomorrow (ALOT) Foundation.
