In honor of Sister Cities International Program's 50th Anniversary, Kate Heilman, senior manager of operations, and Natalie Campbell, communications manager, traveled to Washington D.C. to celebrate the national Sister Cities program with their counterparts from all over the world.

In addition to our new staff members, we are pleased to announce the promotion of Kate Heilman to the position of Senior Manager of Operations.Kate will continue to work on a day-to-day basis with the Kyiv, Moscow and Vilnius Committees while overseeing the programs related to Chicago's twenty-five Sister Cities Committees.Kate will also develop and implement policies and procedures that relate to the Board of Directors and the organization as a whole.

The mayor's wife was extremely interested and asked Kate to contact Danya Chazan who helps organize educational programs with schools in Chicago.

"Other cities have that volunteer base, but it tends to be retirees or people who like to travel," says Kate Heilman, CSCIP's senior manager of operations.
