Coordinating students scurrying around the pallets of supplies was Adam Heck, a math teacher at Forest Lake Academy, a Christian school in Orlando.

"They tell me we'll have 1,000 kids here through next week," he said.

Heck and some of his students arrived Tuesday night and plan to stay through next Tuesday.They are camping out at the school.

Adam Heck, a math teacher from Forest Lake Academy, said that he is most excited about meeting with people he has known and worked with over the years.I quickly met up with many classmates from my alma mater, Andrews University, and we reminisced until the beginning of the evening meeting.

The opening session, held in the Lone Star Ballroom of the Adams Mark, began with opening prayer and a concert by the Vocal Majority, a men's choir from Dallas.The choir sang a variety of songs from the secular "Can You Feel the Love Tonight?"to a beautiful rendition of "The Lord's Prayer."The concert brought life and energy to the many weary educators who had traveled hundreds or thousands of miles that morning.
