    Defense: ADAM HAY OF CENTRE COLLEGE, a 6-2, 220-pound senior linebacker from Cincinnati, Ohio, has been selected the SCAC Football Defensive Player-of-the-Week for games played Saturday, November 8.

    Hay matched his season-high for tackles with 15, including 12 solo tackles and three assisted tackles. He also recorded a tackle for a loss and broke up a pass in the win. With his performance, Hay now has 102 total tackles on the year, including 10.0 tackles for loss.

    HAY SELECTED TO 2008 CDS

    Centre College senior linebacker Adam Hay was recently selected as a 2008 Consensus Draft Services (CDS) First Team Defensive All-American.

    Hay, a 2005 McNicholas graduate, was named to the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) First Team and the D3football.com 2007 South Region First Team last year.

    He led the Colonels and the SCAC in tackles with 138, with 79 being solo tackles.

    His 138 tackles last year also became the second highest single-season total in SCAC history.

    With the help of Hay's (13.8) tackles per game last year ranking him fifth in the country, the Colonels were able to have their first winning season since 2005 and their first winning season in conference play since 2003.

    Hay had a huge opening day helping the Colonels defeat Bluffton (Ohio) University 14-9 on the road.Hay recorded 20 total tackles, including six solo and 14 assisted tackles, in helping Centre limit the Beavers to only 179 total offensive yards, with only 63 of those coming on the ground.Hay also tallied four tackles for loss, including his first two sacks of the season in the win.
