Cameron Harvey joined the Belmont women's track and field program for his first year in August 2008.
He will use his experience and expertise to help the sprinters, jumpers and hurdlers move to the next level as well as assist with recruiting for the program.
Harvey joins the Bruins after a two year stint at his alma mater Marquette University as a graduate assistant.
While with the Golden Eagles, he was responsible for designing and implementing workouts for all sprinters and hurdlers as well as handling scouting, recruiting and scheduling.
While with the UM program, Harvey assisted in the development of two NCAA Division I qualifiers in the decathlon and indoor 800m and three USATF Junior National Qualifiers in the 100m, 200m and high jump.
The program also saw an amazing 17 school records established in events ranging from the 60m to the outdoor pole vault on both the men's and women's side under Harvey's tutelage.
Before beginning his career with the Golden Eagles, he served as assistant coach at Rufus King High in Milwaukee.
Harvey, who helped oversee over 150 student-athletes at RKHS, once again pushed athletes to excel on the championship level.
In 2005, a student-athlete claimed the state title in both the long and triple jumps.
Harvey got his coaching start at Catholic Memorial High in Waukesha, Wisc., as assistant men's hurdles and sprints coach.
Over the course of his tenure, he helped the program earn the WIAA State Championship and the men's 4x400 relay team to back-to-back championships (2003, 2004).
In addition, CMHS became the team indoor state champions in 2004.
Harvey, who earned both his bachelor's and master's degrees from Marquette, was a four-year member of the track and field team.
MU's record holder in the 110 hurdles, he was also a two-time Conference USA finalist in both the 60m hurdles and 110m hurdles.
A native of Milwaukee, Harvey resides in Nashville.
