Caldwell County Sheriff's Investigator Shelly Hartley was on the stand for the remainder of the day.Hartley got involved with the Anderson case once Emily Anderson's body was found.Hartley assisted with the investigation at Keen's Towing on Jan. 7, 2006.She testified there was no strong odor around the truck. She did take note of a spot that looked like blood on a mat in the bed of the truck.
However, Hartley could not yet testify about testing that sample because the defense has a motion to suppress testimony about certain blood testing.A mini-hearing must occur outside the presence of the jury before anyone can talk about those tests.
Hartley explained several sets of photos to jurors Friday, including photos of five fingerprints Hartley collected from inside the toolbox, photos of the Old Navy sweatshirt Emily had on when her body was discovered and photos of property seized from the Anderson farm.
