Jason S. Hartley is a partner resident in Ross, Dixon & Bell, LLP's San Diego, California office.He joined the firm in 1999.
Mr. Hartley's practice areas include class action litigation, antitrust and unfair competition, and music law.He is involved in all aspects of civil litigation and has handled cases in both federal and state courts.For the past several years, his practice has involved primarily antitrust and consumer class actions.He has served in senior litigation roles for a number of nationwide class actions, including In re Urethanes Antitrust Litigation (co-lead counsel); Hackett, et al v. L'Oreal (lead counsel); Gonzalez et al v. P&G (lead counsel); In re Visa/MC Interchange Fee Antitrust Litigation (executive committee); In re Sulfuric Acid Antitrust Litigation; In re Relafen Antitrust Litigation; In re Buspar Antitrust Litigation; and In re Methionine Antitrust Litigation, among many others.Mr. Hartley also was general counsel for an internationally distributed independent record company and has represented artists in major label record contracts.
Mr. Hartley graduated cum laude with a European Legal Practice Certification from Tulane Law School in New Orleans, Louisiana.At Tulane, he served as Assistant Executive Editor of the Tulane Journal of International and Comparative Law for two years and won the ASCAP-sponsored Nathan Burkan Memorial Writing Competition.Mr. Hartley has published articles in Findlaw, the Defense Counsel Journal, the Tulane Journal of International and Comparative Law, the National Law Journal, Self Insurer magazine, and a section of an ABA Monograph regarding the direct purchaser antitrust rule of Illinois Brick; and has lectured upper-level law school classes on federal law.
