PORTSMOUTH -- Laura F. (Peters) Hartford, 83, formerly of Woodlawn Circle, Portsmouth, died Tuesday, Oct. 3, 2006 at the Wentworth-Douglass Hospital in Dover.
Born in Freedom on Aug. 8, 1923, she was the daughter of the late Nelson and Nellie A. (Thurston) Peters.She was a graduate of Ethan Stone High School, Newfield, Maine, Class of 1942.
She was formerly employed as a waitress at the Wentworth Hotel and several hotels in New Hampshire and North Carolina.She had also worked as a waitress in the catering business for the Jarvis family.
She attended the North Congregational Church in Portsmouth.She was a member of the Mousam Lake Grange in Shapleigh, Maine, and a life member Fern Chapter 139, Order of the Eastern Star in Alfred, Maine.
Laura took pride in her yard and her flowers, as well as caring for pets.
