Matt HartellOwner, operator, and guideA self-proclaimed two wheeled enthusiast raised in the foothills of the North Carolina Mountain Country.After a stint in Yellowstone N.P. with the Student Conservation Association he attended the University of South Carolina where he received a degree in Anthropology and Latin American Studies.Following an internship with the Smithsonian Institute's American Indian Museums Studies Program he returned to work for the Smithsonian's Center of American Folklife.

Seeking to subsidize his deep cycling and outdoor affliction, the professionally trained bike mechanic and weekend racer moved to La Antigua, Guatemala and founded Old Town Outfitters.
