CHARLESTON , W.Va. - Paul W. Hart , 54 , died Dec.18 at Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown.

The native of Guyton , Ga. , received a doctorate degree in chemistry from the University of Georgia.He was an associate laboratory director for the National Energy Technology Laboratory , U.S. Department of Energy Office of Environmental Quality and Nuclear Security in Morgantown and Pittsburgh , and was formerly an R&D chemist for Union Carbide.

He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Guyton.He was a member of the executive committee for the American Nuclear Society's Decommissioning , Decontamination and Reutilization Division , a past president of the Charleston Lions Club , Young Republican Party , Kanawha County Republican Executive Committee and a board member of the American Conservative Union.
