Another person who has found Creekside a good place to do business is Paul Hart, president of Hart Resource Technologies.
Hart's company treats and safely disposes of water contaminated during oil and natural gas drilling operations. The process is done just off Route 110 on the outskirts of town at a facility that was once a mine-water reclamation plant.
The business was started in 1984 by Hart's brother, Larry, a petroleum engineer who was interested in developing new ways to properly dispose of wastewater for the oil and natural gas industries.
Larry was initially going to built his own facility until learning that the reclamation plant was available.

Paul, who was working in retail at the time, soon joined his brother in the business.Hart learned the operation from the bottom up, including how to clean, repair and operate all the equipment.
In 1988, Hart took over the business when his brother decided to go to work for another company.Hart also returned to college, earning a degree in secondary science education from IUP in 1996.
The plant, which has a storage capacity of about 200,000 gallons, processes an average of 14 million gallons of water a year. For a time, the company also refined the byproducts from the water for commercial use until the process proved too costly.
Hart, 40, today runs the plant with the help of four employees, whom he credits for its success."It's the people you hire that makes the difference," he said."I've been fortunate to have good ones."
Hart said that over the years he has tried to be considerate of nearby residents by keeping noise and odor to a minimum and restricting the hours that trucks can haul wastewater to the plant.
"We're very concerned about staying in business," said Hart, who lives near Indiana with his wife, Susan, and three children."In order to do that, you have to be a good neighbor."
Hart also said he is always on the lookout for new technologies and expansion opportunities."I believe in keeping all your options open," he said."You want to try to stay ahead of the game as much as you can."
