Past District Governor John Hart has been a member of the Tucson Downtown Lions Club since December 1998.He has served his club as Program Chairperson, First Vice President, President, Immediate Past President, Tail Twister and currently serves as Secretary.

At the district level, PDG John served as Zone Chairperson, District Extension Chairperson, Cabinet Secretary, District Chaplain, District and Host Club Fall 2003 Cabinet Meeting Chairperson.He currently serves as District Membership Chairperson and MEROLW Coordinator.At the multiple district level, he served as MD-21 Memorial Service Chairperson and as Parade Chairperson for the 2004 and 2006 Lions Clubs International Conventions.

John J. Hart was graduated from Columbia University and received his law degree from Yale University Law School.Mr. Hart has been a partner with the firm for over three decades, having joined Pelletreau & Pelletreau immediately upon graduation.Continuing the firm's commitment to public service, Mr. Hart has repeatedly been called upon to fill positions of trust in public capacities.

He has been Chairman of the Suffolk County Charter Revision Commission, and continues his twenty year tenure as Vice-Chairman of the Suffolk County Regional Planning Board.He was the Vice-Chairman of the Suffolk County Ethics Commission, and is a past Chairman of the Suffolk County Task Force on Housing and acted for many years as Village Attorney for the Village of Bellport.

As a community leader, Mr. Hart is a member of the Board of Directors of Brookhaven Memorial Hospital, and was chosen to serve on the Board's Executive Committee.His experience in health care law also led to his current appointment to the Board of Governors of the Health Care Trustees of New York State.He is a past Trustee of the Museums at Stony Brook, and was the Vice-Chairman of the Stony Brook Foundation, which the firm now serves as Counsel.Mr. Hart is a past President of the Suffolk County Bar Association and is a Fellow of both the New York Bar Foundation and the American Bar Foundation.

Mr. Hart is admitted to practice in the United States District Courts in the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York, the Second Circuit Court of Appeals and the Supreme Court of the United States, and all New York State courts.He is a member of the American, New York State Bar and Suffolk County Bar Associations, and the American Trial Lawyers Association.

I was selected for the game in 1958 but I couldn't play because it was played the same week as the Rose Bowl , remembered Hart , who recently had been on Bruce Snyder's staff at Arizona State.Since Bruce was fired , I've been looking for a way to stay in football , and this is perfect.The game isn't what it was in my time , but it's still the best cause in sports..
