John J. Hart, Esq.
John J. Hart was graduated from Columbia University and received his law degree from Yale University Law School.Mr. Hart has been a partner with the firm for over three decades, having joined Pelletreau & Pelletreau immediately upon graduation.Continuing the firm's commitment to public service, Mr. Hart has repeatedly been called upon to fill positions of trust in public capacities.
He has been Chairman of the Suffolk County Charter Revision Commission, and continues his twenty year tenure as Vice-Chairman of the Suffolk County Regional Planning Board.He was the Vice-Chairman of the Suffolk County Ethics Commission, and is a past Chairman of the Suffolk County Task Force on Housing and acted for many years as Village Attorney for the Village of Bellport.
As a community leader, Mr. Hart is a member of the Board of Directors of Brookhaven Memorial Hospital, and was chosen to serve on the Board's Executive Committee.His experience in health care law also led to his current appointment to the Board of Governors of the Health Care Trustees of New York State.He is a past Trustee of the Museums at Stony Brook, and was the Vice-Chairman of the Stony Brook Foundation, which the firm now serves as Counsel.Mr. Hart is a past President of the Suffolk County Bar Association and is a Fellow of both the New York Bar Foundation and the American Bar Foundation.
Mr. Hart is admitted to practice in the United States District Courts in the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York, the Second Circuit Court of Appeals and the Supreme Court of the United States, and all New York State courts.He is a member of the American, New York State Bar and Suffolk County Bar Associations, and the American Trial Lawyers Association.
