Authorities do not know what the lightning hit, said Cindy Hart, deputy director of the Barbour County Office of Emergency Services.
"None of them, thank God, had any life-threatening injuries," Hart said late Thursday.
The victims ranged in age from 18 to 52.She said one person was taken to a local hospital for evaluation.The others left in private vehicles and Hart said she did not know their status.

Firefighters evacuated two residences and the Red Cross opened a shelter at the Belington Civic Center, Hart said.
The Red Cross was helping 50 people needing shelter late Thursday, The Exponent-Telegram reported.
