Mr. Hart joined the Saad Group in 1991 as General Manager of Saad Investments Company EC (1991-1997) and then Saad Financial Services in Geneva (1997-present).He is also a Director of Awal Bank and member of the Executive Committee.From 1990-1991, he was a Director of Hartwell Management Ltd., London, and helped develop wide-ranging investment programs for a leading Saudi Arabian family.Previous to that, he was an Executive Director in charge of the International Department and the Financial Institutions Department of the Scandinavian Bank Group, London.He also supervised the bank's overseas branches, was a member of the Head Office Credit Committee and served on the boards of Scandinavian Pacific Limited (Sydney) and Scandinavian Far East Limited (Hong Kong).Prior to that, he was General Manager of the Middle East branch (Bahrain) of the Scandinavian Bank (1985-1988); Vice President, corporate bank, Bank of America, Bahrain (1983-1985); and held various positions with Citibank in Bahrain, Latin America and the Far East (1973-1983).Mr. Hart graduated BA, Georgetown University (1970), and MBA, University of Michigan (1973).Following his university studies, he served in the US Army (Captain, Field Artillery).

Christopher Hart, general manager of Saad Investments, told The Times: "We have absolutely no problem with the 15 per cent management bonus because they will first have to deliver us £12 of cash.You have to give the management enough to make it interesting for them, you have to make it tasty."

Mr Hart added: "This would never be an issue in America, we think it is a win-win proposal for everyone."

Mr Hart described critics of the plan as "anti-capitalist and against entrepreneurship".
