There was discussion regarding Item 5(b), Resolution #R2002-09-59 - Authorization to File Grant Applications with the U. S. Department of Transportation for Urban Area Formula Funds, Congestion Mitigation/Air Quality Funds, Special Congressional Appropriations, and Funding in Other Federal Transit Special Grant Categories.Commissioner Hart asked how often HART can use toll credits as match for grant funds.
Ms. Dent responded that there is an unlimited amount of toll credits to be used for match and HART is able to take advantage of these matching funds because of a special feature of federal law that allows it.

Ms. Dent replied that HART could reimburse the City for the work, or HART could pay for the work through its contractor.

Ms. Dent advised that HART is also paying a small portion of Dr. Polzin's expenses to the annual meeting of the American Public Transportation Association.

Because of the long list of grants that HART is pursuing, there are meetings with the congressional delegation and there will be coordination activities with the Federal Transit Administration as well.She said Councilwoman Gwen Miller is going because of her interest in meeting with the congressional delegation to leverage funds for various projects in Tampa.

There was discussion that the streetcar is contract services with Tampa Historic Streetcar, Inc. paying for the services delivered by HART on Tampa Historic Streetcar's behalf.
